This time I will share experiences in the application to install XAMPP (Web Application Server with Apache, MySQL, PHP, Perl, ProFTPD, phpMyAdmin, openssl, Freetype, libjpeg, libpng, gdbm, zlib, expat, ming, Sablotron, libxml, Webalizer, pdf class, ncurses, mod_perl, FreeTDS, gettext, IMAP C-Client, OpenLDAP (client lib), eAccelerator, mcrypt, mhash, SQLite, Curl, ZZIPlib, libxslt, phpSQLiteAdmin, FPDF) on my computer using the Ubuntu OS 9:04
The first we have to do is download XAMPP from the application site authorized, http://www.apachefriends.org/download.php?xampp-linux-1.7.tar.gz. After we successfully downloaded , then our next step is to open the terminal and type command file to extract XAMPP to the directory /opt on our computer.
After extracted, we change the directory permission XAMPP into 775 with type command :
To run lampp application, type command :
You will see a line in the terminal as a notification under this
Which showed that XAMPP was installed on the computer and we have been active. To review, then we open the browser and the URL http://localhost.
Wellcome's Screen XAMMP that XAMPP has indicated that the computer is connected with us.
XAMPP is intended for developers/Web designers, if you will use for online XAMPP webserver then need to be some security improvements, mengetikan do with the /opt/lampp/lampp security at the terminal and then setting up the necessary security.
Below are some basic command for XAMPP.
start: Enabling Applications XAMPP.
stop: Stop the application XAMPP.
restart: re-Enabling Applications XAMPP.
startapache: Enabling Applications Apache only.
startssl: Enabling Apache SSL support.
startmysql: Enabling MySQL database only.
startftp: Enabling ProFTPD server.
stopapache: Stopping Apache.
stopssl: Stop the Apache SSL support.
stopmysql: Stop the MySQL database.
stopftp: Stopping ProFTPD server.
If you want to remove XAMPP, please type this command sudo rm-rf /opt/lampp to delete it from your computer.
Now you can start to create web based applications PHP, Perl and others or you can use XAMPP to install alikasi CMS such as Joomla, Mamboo, WordPress, or B2evolution kind phpBB FORUM Alikasi, mercury board, etc. on your computer
