Here thread from ubuntuguide to change Usplash boot screen in Ubuntu lucid lynx (10.04), USplash is splash screen will see when we booting for ubuntu. here ways to change it :
Go to terminal and login as root bye type :
$ sudo su
Install startup manager by type :
$ apt-get install startupmanager
Start it, go to System -> Administration -> Startup Manager
You can set it.
